You made it this far, to the end of what can only be described as the most f’d up year in our lifetime. I mean 2020 was definitely one for the books.
You survived a whirlwind-rollercoaster of a year, where many people lost their jobs, routines, and some, lost themselves. We made sacrifices just to make ends meet or to make sure they stayed healthy and safe. Our lives flipped upside down and inside and out, taking a toll physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Everything we knew changed and resulted in a “new normal”, which really sucks. But we’re still here. Not everyone made it to the end of 2020 in one piece, so if you did, it means means you have to keep going.
Sure, there were definitely moments of joy, happiness, and relief – and it’s equally important to reflect on those moments from this year. The same things that challenged others and shut them down, gave others a fresh start. People gained a new outlook on life and grew personally and professionally. To those people, I congratulate you for finding ways to make 2020 your year.
But I think we can be most proud of ourselves for still being here, waking up each day and being strong enough to fight to hang on to hope that better days are coming, and making the most of each passing day.
Happy new year to you!
